This week’s field of VidSwap.com Players of the Week include a three-time honoree, a new record holder and a standout defender. Chicago’s Chris Nendick picked up the special teams award for third time this season, while Fort Wayne’s Randy Hutchison and Scott Heighland won the offensive and defensive awards, respectively.

The Freedom quarterback tied the CIFL record for touchdown passes in a single game during the Freedom’s season-ending victory over Wheeling. Fort Wayne wrapped its season with a 6-5 mark by defeating the Wildcats 84-42 at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Hutchison tied Russ Michna’s league record for passing touchdowns in a single game with nine. He completed scoring strikes to five different receivers and finished 22-of-34 for 196 yards as the Freedom posted a season-high mark for points.

Heighland was a force for the Freedom defense as they wrapped up their regular season with a triumph. Fort WayneFort Wayne, Ind. finished 6-5 by beating Wheeling 84-42 at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in
The Freedom linebacker/defensive back intercepted three passes and forced a fumble to lead Fort Wayne’s defense. He returned two of the interceptions for touchdowns and the forced fumble led to an offensive score for the Freedom.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Nendick joined teammate Russ Michna as the only three-time award winner this season during Chicago’s season-ending win. The Slaughter beat nearby foe Wisconsin 49-14 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis.
Nendick nailed all seven of his extra-point tries on the night, padding his already league-leading total for PAT kicks. In the process, he broke Adam Lanctot’s single-season record for PAT kicks with 80 on the year.
