The 3rd year tailback became the starter at the position this season and on Saturday night against Regina carried 24 times for 174 yards in the Hilltops win. One of those gallops went for a season high 39 yards. The 5’9”, 185, Saskatoon product has a commanding edge in the conference rushing list with 539 yards, a 154 yard lead on Justin McEvoy of the Edmonton Wildcats.
DEFENSE-LANDON PERRA-LB- REGINA THUNDER

In a contest that was a defensive struggle, the 5’11”, 210 lb backer stood out in a crowd of fine individual efforts. Perra recorded 7 Tackles, 2 Assists, a Sack, a Forced Fumble and Recovery and for good measure a 5-yard interception return. When it was all said & done, Perra recorded 27 DPTS in the Thunder’s 18-14 loss to Saskatoon on Saturday night. Perra is 2nd in the PFC Defensive Points Race with 70.5. Perra is a graduate of Regina’s Miller High School and is taking EMT training in order to become a firefighter.

For the 2nd time in 2009, the sophomore captures Special Teams honors, hitting all 3 of his field-goal attempts from 19, 33 & 43 yards out in the Hilltops home victory. His punting also played a big role as the conference leader averaged 46.3 yards gross & 41.5 net on 6 punts including a 59 yarder that went for a single late in the 4th quarter. His season average stands at 44.0 gross & 38.7 net.
