IFL ANNOUNCES THE VIDSWAP.COM
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Conference Championships Jul 28-Aug 3
Richmond, VA: After over four months of indoor football action, we are down to the final two teams vying for the first ever IFL United Bowl Trophy. The RiverCity Rage were able to secure the United Conference Championship with a win over the Wichita Wild last weekend, and the Billings Outlaws took home the Intense Conference Championship in their victory over the El Paso Generals. The recipients of the Conference Championship Player of the Week awards were the difference makers for their individual squads wins. Fans can visit GoIFL.com to see the video highlights that made these young men the VidSwap.com Players of the Week.
CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK –QB CHRIS DIXON/BILLINGS OUTLAWS
He has put up big numbers all year, and once again Chris Dixon put his team on his back and drove them to victory in the Intense Conference Championship game last weekend. The Outlaw Quarterback kept the El Paso Generals defense guessing all evening with his combination of passes and running ability. Dixon’s stat line included five rushes for 88 yards and a score and completing 11 of 19 passes for 131 yards a five more scores. The Outlaws, arguably the leagues most dangerous offensive team, need just one more superb performance out of Dixon next weekend if they want to bring home the IFL’s first ever United Bowl trophy.
CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK –DE TERRELL WASHINGTON/ RIVERCITY RAGE
Filling up the stats sheet is no surprise for the RiverCity defense, who once again supplied a dominating performance in their biggest game of the year. This time it was Defensive End Terrell Washington who stood out amongst his peers and helped the Rage advance to the United Bowl Championship. Washington finished the evening with 7.5 tackles, four of them for losses of 25 yards, and 1.5 sacks for a loss of 15 yards. He also batted down a pass by Wild Quarterback Dixie Wooten. But his biggest play of the night came when he fell on top of a blocked kick in the Wild endzone, with 26 seconds left in the first half, to put the Rage up 36-14. Washington and the rest of the Rage will represent the United Conference as they head to Billings on August 15th for the first ever IFL United Bowl Championship.
CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK–KR BYRON JONES/RIVERCITY RAGE
If the RiverCity Rage game plan was to get on the board early in their United Conference Championship game last weekend in Wichita, then Byron Jones definitely took it to heart. Jones took the opening kickoff from the back of his endzone and raced 59 yards down the right sideline for a score to give his team an early lead that they would not relinquish. Jones set up excellent field position for the offense all night, totaling three returns for 123 yards. The Billings Outlaws are now going to have to put measures in place to stop the Rage Special Teams unit come the Championship game.

IFL ANNOUNCES THE VIDSWAP.COM
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
WEEK 15 June 16-June 22
Richmond, VA: The inaugural Indoor Football league season is winding down, and playoff fever is upon us. Many individual performances throughout this season have led their teams to all important victories. The three players selected this week for honors each fit that category, and are main cogs in their teams championship run. Fans can visit GoIFL.com to see the video highlights that made these young men the VidSwap.com Players of the Week.
WEEK FIFTEEN OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK –QB CHRIS DIXON/BILLINGS OUTLAWS
Offensive Player of the Week and Chris Dixon seem to be synonymous this season. The Outlaws Quarterback is being recognized for the award for the fourth time this season after his performance last week against the Colorado Ice. Dixon added six more touchdown passes to his league leading total to bring him to 66 on the season, while throwing for 231 more yards. He also added 16 yards rushing on three attempts. The IFL Fan’s Choice MVP Candidate has his team at 11-1, and is showing no signs of slowing down come playoff time.
WEEK FIFTEEN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK –DE RACHMAN CRABLE/ SIOUX FALLS STORM
The Storm may be down, but they are certainly not out. Still holding out hope for the final playoff spot in the Central Division, Rachman Crable and the rest of the Storm defensive unit shut down the usually potent Fairbanks Grizzlies offense. The defensive end made life for Quarterback Justin Rummell miserable sacking him three times. He also added four tackles for losses of 19 yards, a forced fumble, a safety, and returned another fumble 35 yards for a touchdown. With performances like this one, opposing offenses are crossing their fingers that they don’t have to face the Storm in the post-season.
WEEK FIFTEEN SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK–WR/KR CARL SIMS/BLOOMINGTON EXTREME
All it takes is an opportunity to shine. When IFL Fan’s Choice MVP candidate Laroche Jackson went down with an injury in Bloomington’s 50-12 victory over Maryland, Sims was given that opportunity in the kick return game, and he didn’t disappoint. Half way through the second quarter Sims broke loose and took a kickoff 57 yards to the house to put the Extreme up by two scores. He also showcased his skills on offense by hauling in a 15 yard touchdown pass. The Extreme never looked back from there, and in the process snapped the Maniacs ten game winning streak.

WR Rob Mager-Rochester Raiders

RB Sean Treasure-Sioux Falls Storm

The Ruff Rider defense has this team looking to make noise in the playoffs. Longoria has made it difficult to pass on them by intercepting nine passes this season, tied for league best, and returning one for a score.
DB Laroche Jackson-Bloomington Extreme
The do-it-all defensive back has been a nightmare for Quarterbacks and special teams units alike. He has intercepted nine passes this season and returned two of those for touchdowns. On special teams he has returned a missed field goal for a TD as well as two kickoffs for touchdowns.
DE Michael Landry-Billings Outlaws

Player of the Week
June 10, 2009 09:56:00 AM
IFL ANNOUNCES THE VIDSWAP.COM
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
WEEK 13 June 2-June 8
Richmond, VA: Week 13 saw three more teams clinch spots in the Indoor Football League’s post-season, leaving only six spots left. The Lone Star Division is wide open, two more spots could be filled this week in the Pacific, and it will come down to the wire to see who gets the last spot in the Central. The three young men being honored this week showed the rest of the league that their teams will be a force to be reckoned with come playoff time. Fans can visit GoIFL.com to see the video highlights that made these young men the VidSwap.com Players of the Week.
WEEK THIRTEEN OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK –QB CHRIS DIXON/BILLINGS OUTLAWS
Top teams typically always have a top signal caller behind center. Such is the case with the Billings Outlaws. Chris Dixon has been lighting up the stats sheet all year, and this week was no different against the defending UIF Champion Sioux Falls Storm. The Quarterback was 24 of 28 passing for 185 yards and seven touchdown passes. He was also able to escape the strong Storm pass rush all evening, and accumulated 53 rushing yards and another score. Come playoff time, teams are going to have to find an answer for this dual threat. This is the Quarterback’s third time winning this award on the year.
WEEK THIRTEEN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK –DB JUSTIN HARRISON/ BLOOMINGTON EXTREME
It takes a strong defense to shut down one of the leagues more potent offenses. Led by Defensive back Justin Harrison, the Extreme were able to hold the Wild for their eighth win of the year. Harrison was all over the field, contributing eight solo tackles, three assists, and two pass breakups. Three of his tackles resulted in losses of 15 yards for the Wild. He also added two quarterback sacks on the evening to cap off one of the better all around defensive performances of the season.
WEEK THIRTEEN SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK–DB/KR LAROCHE JACKSON/BLOOMINGTON EXTREME
When a few plays are the difference between a win and a loss, it is often the efforts of a single player that propel a team to victory. In Bloomington’s game against Wichita last weekend, that player was Laroche Jackson. The DB/KR had a stellar game on special teams by returning a missed field goal 45 yards for a touchdown and a 55 yard kickoff for another score. He also contributed an interception on defense. His efforts helped the Extreme clinch, at worst, a second place finish in the Central Division. This was Jackson’s second time winning the Special Teams Player of the Week this season.

Player of the week
May 13, 2009 10:27:00 AM
Richmond, VA: Week 9 did little to clear up the IFL playoff picture as many close battles highlighted an exciting weekend of games. The winners of this week’s awards played above and beyond expectations, and gave their teams an all important victory as the second half of the IFL season kicks off. Fans can visit GoIFL.com to see the video highlights that made these young men the VidSwap.com Players of the Week.
WEEK NINE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK –QB CHRIS DIXON/BILLINGS OUTLAWS
Week in and week out, Chris Dixon seems to pick apart opposing defenses. The IFL’s leader in touchdown passes, and two time winner of this award, did not disappoint against Alaska this week. His 43 yard strike to Receiver Robert Redd opened the scoring and was the first of his many fine plays. The Outlaw gunslinger tossed for seven touchdown passes on 22 of 27 passing and also ran for another score. Dixon has led his Outlaws to a 7-1 out of the gate, and is showing no signs of slowing down.
WEEK EIGHT DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK –LB KELLY ROUSE/ BILLINGS OUTLAWS
For a second consecutive week, an Outlaws defender takes home Player of the Week honors. It is also the first time all season that a pair of teammates has won their respective honors in the same week. Linebacker Kelly Rouse gave the Alaska Wild fits all game, as he filled up the stat sheet. The ball hawk recorded 5 solo tackles and two assists to go along with a forced fumble, fumble recovery, sack, and two quarterback hurries. Opposing offenses need to take notice of where #53 is at all times
WEEK EIGHT SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK–KR/WR SCHUYLER ANDERSON/CORPUS CHRISTI
There are three facets to each successful football team: Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. The importance of the third facet is often an after thought, but has often come back to bite teams or be the difference in their victories. In a close battle against Odessa, return man Schuyler Anderson brought back a 31 yard kick off setting up excellent field position for his offensive teammates to get a go ahead score. He also showed his athleticism on a botched extra point attempt. After a bad snap, kicker Rene Vasquez pitched the ball to Anderson who acts as the teams holder as well. He juked his way through multiple tackle attempts and crossed the endzone for a two point score. In total, he accumulated 79 yards on his four kick returns to along with the two point conversion.
